Celebrating Friendsgiving

What better way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday together, than with close friends!??  The weekend before Thanksgiving, my close friends and I got together for our first annual Friendsgiving gathering. Friendsgiving is a celebration before the Thanksgiving holiday. A Thanksgiving twist. A potluck feast.  And I must say, it was a complete success!!! This years menu consisted of:  Turkey wings, Chicken, Collard Greens, sweet potatoes, yellow rice, macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, rolls, tasty festive cupcakes, and wine galore. Everything was so delicious. And there were so much left overs, that we were all able to make to go plates. Great conversations and laughter  filled the evening. Why I love Holiday Movies~~movie round-up

The Meaning of Christmas is totally different for everyone. To me it means celebrating Jesus Christ,  Family, giving, my favorite holiday drinks, and last but not least.....holiday movies!!!   I have so many classic favorites that I love to watch. Some of my most memorable moments as a child is just sitting around during this time of year with my family enjoying them all. They bring such joy and celebration to watch.   On Christmas Eve, we all would gather around the television with popcorn and our favorite snacks in our brand new Christmas PJs that we got every year. The smile and signs of happiness on my parents faces lit up the room. They are definitely big kids at heart. Just seeing and experiencing them spending that time with my siblings and I, I was able

Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving Table Setting Inspiration

Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving Table Setting Inspiration Halloween has come and gone, and it is now time to focus on your Thanksgiving decor. As I stated in my previous post, I'm hosting my first Friendsgiving gathering. I'm so excited to just be with good friends this weekend. Sharing good laughs, memories, with good food and wine.  Since Friendsgiving is focused around good food and friends, most of your  focus for your decor should be around the dining room table. Like always, I'm wanting things to be perfect for my girlfriends and I. So, as always, I went to Pinterest for inspiration. Pinterest is my go to for absolutely EVERYTHING!!! Below are a few pictures that I found on Pinterest, that are truly inspiring to me. I'll be taking a little from each to help me finalize my planning.

This holiday season, I'm excited to say that I'm hosting my very first Friendsgiving gathering!! Making time to be with close friends to tell them how grateful you are to have them in your life will strengthen any friendship.  What's Friendsgiving you ask?????  It's a gathering celebrating friends as family. It's a feast before the feast.  A group of my very close friends will gather with laughs, great food, and WINE!!!  There's nothing like gathering with your favorite people eating your favorite holiday dishes. A dinner gathering that excludes family drama, and shows off everyone's potluck skills. The dress code is whatever you want it to be. Wanting to have your own Friendsgiving celebration?
