Celebrating Friendsgiving

What better way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday together, than with close friends!??

The weekend before Thanksgiving, my close friends and I got together for our first annual Friendsgiving gathering. Friendsgiving is a celebration before the Thanksgiving holiday. A Thanksgiving twist. A potluck feast.  And I must say, it was a complete success!!! It was such a overload of good food and drinks.  Did I mention how the drinks were so on point!!!

This years menu consisted of:  Turkey wings, Chicken, Collard Greens, sweet potatoes, yellow rice, macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, rolls, tasty festive cupcakes, and wine galore. Everything was so delicious. And there were so much left overs, that we were all able to make to go plates.

Great conversations and laughter  filled the evening. So many memories were pulled from our past that some of us completely forgot about. We were able to fill each other in on our lives and whats going on now. Advice was given on so many situations. It's amazing how some of us may not get to talk on a daily basis, but when were together we just pick up like no time has passed. That's the true meaning of friendship.  It's the feeling of family that keeps us bonded as friends. Some closer that family.

We enjoyed our time together so much this year, that we've decided to make it an annual tradition. Each year it'll be at a different home. It only makes sense to celebrate some of the the major holidays together as one. Were also planning to coordinate our first vision board party right after new years. This Holiday ,I'm so thankful to have some of the most amazing females in my life to call family.

Kyrzayda Rodriquez....My Style Icon

Kyrzayda Rodriquez was someone that inspired so many people around the world, including myself. I was one of her biggest fans, always in the back ground cheering at her success. I began following Kyrzayda’s blog and social media pages mid 2014. She inspired me by her love for fashion, hair, and the love she had for every family member and friend. We never met, but we conversed a few times thru social media. She became a part of my life in a major way. Her love and hustle for what she did truly inspired me.  Because of her, I finally took the leap in starting my own blog.  Over time, she became my inspiration for fashion and more.  I can’t count how many times I’ve screen shot a picture of her to take to my stylist for inspirational hair cuts! She's definitely my hair crush and goal.  I wanted my hair just like hers. My first time running across Kyrzayda was on Pinterest. I found several pixie cuts I thought was so freaking cute! ...

This is 44...........The Self-Love Era!

This past July 30th, I celebrated my 44th birthday. I swear, once I turned 35, these birthdays started coming around fast as hell. But I thank the most high for allowing me to see them all. Giving me the opportunity to be here for my beautiful children, as well as my family and close friends.  A part of my brand is encouraging self-love and improvement. Daily I strive to evaluate myself inside and out, as well as where I am in life. After much reflecting, there is a lot that I'm truly proud and grateful for. But there's also things that I must continue to work on daily to enhance my inner being. While there's room for improvement, I also thank my current self for becoming the woman I currently am. I will continue to celebrate all wins in life no matter how big or small. This past year was filled with so many small wins that I've prayed for a long time. We owe it to ourselves to acknowledge and celebrate those wins too. 44 is my era of self-love, my healing of progress ...

RH Rooftop Restaurant Birthday Celebration

This past weekend I celebrated my 44th birthday with close family and friends. My birthday isn't until July 30, (LEO GANG) but due to me being out of town then, I wanted to pre-celebrate with them before leaving. I've heard so much about RH that I just had to see what all the fuss was about. RH Charlotte is a luxury home furnishing store located in South Park's Phillips Place shopping center, with a rooftop restaurant and wine bar.  RH Rooftop was such a vibe!! The ambiance and staff were great. Walking thru the doors on the first floor was such a dramatic entrance. There's 14ft high ceilings with chandeliers and a golden stairwell that leads up to the second and third floors. But of course, I came cute, so your girl took the elevators instead! RH rooftop restaurant is located on the third floor. This restaurant is so glamorous. It's a luxurious greenhouse filled with beautiful waterfalls, chandeliers, and marble tabletops. The restaurant is opened all day for break...
