Family Farm Fun 2021

“I’M SO GLAD I LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE THERE ARE OCTOBERS.” -L.M. MONTGOMERY Natures glory is so beautiful around this time of year. Our days are now shorter. The sun rises later and sets earlier. A farms nature plays a active role in the setting of the season. My family and I have started our fall season off with a bang. So far, we've visited two farms to celebrate the season change.  First up...... McCaskill Farm. On October 2nd, McCaskill farm hosted their annual family and friends fall festival in celebration of the end of Summer. Although it was still rather warm outside, we had a blast participating in all of the fall outdoor activities. There were hayrides, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo with all of the farm animals, a tour of the in ground cellar, a live band, food, and shopping with all local vendors. The very best part of our visit was shopping at the McCaskill store for farm fresh meats, frozen prepared meals, and gifts.    The next stop on our farm hop is Clinton Sease Fa

What's On Your Fall Bucket List?

My favorite time of year and favorite blog post:  THE FALL BUCKET LIST!   Yayyyyy!   Fall I'm so happy that you're finally here! I don't know what it is, but there's something about you that just hits different. The Smell in the air, the chilly mornings and nights..... its rather magical don't you think? Just thinking about all of the fall savory meals and pies has my mouth watering. A fresh baked apple or sweet potato pie during the fall is EVERYTHING! Or better yet, lounging outside on my porch in my favorite rocker with a fresh cup of tea or hot coco...watching the sunset simply makes my fall nights complete.      Around mid September my family and I go all in with decorating  for the fall season. My shoe laces are barely tied before I'm out the door for a fall wreath.   We decorate my front porch with fresh pumpkins and mums. My favorite fall décor and pillows are pulled out of storage to spice up my home. Harvest scented candles and wall flowers from bath a

Time To Get Fall Ready!

After celebrating my birthday at the end of July,  each year I immediately go into fall mode. I know! I know!  But Dana its still Summer. I don't care! This is the time of year when I start picking out my fall decorations and pinning my go to looks for fall fashion on Pinterest.  Fall is one of my favorite times of year. The turning of the leaves and scenery is so majestic. The cool crisp evenings around a fire pit with my favorite chunky sweater, fleece blanket, a good book, hot chocolate or a glass of wine puts me into my happy place. But nothing says fall more than fall fashion!! As I shopped for my birthday things over the past few weeks, I noticed that a lot of the department stores has started putting their fall fashion out already.  Once you start seeing pumpkin spice every where, you'll know it's officially prep mode. I become so excited! Shopping for women's fall fashion in stores and online is more rewarding to me than any other season. I highly advise you to

Chapter 42......Happy Birthday To Me!!

July 30, 2021 Today is my birthday! I am now 42 years old! And yessssssss...... I am a Leo Queen !!! You know we Leos are extra. Every year I try to do it big. What can I say??!! I enjoy life and I love celebrating my born day with close family and friends. I'm getting older, and I must say that I'm okay with it. I'm aging gracefully.  In my Aaliyah's voice, "Age ain't nothing but a nu mber."  Society sets these expectations of what we're suppose to feel and have by a certain age. And quite frankly, I think it's a bunch of bull. I feel every bit of 30. I know I'm not where I truly want to be right now, but I know in due time its mine. I'll continue to work hard. I'm on my own schedule. I wont pressure myself to feel like by this day and age, everything should be perfect and in order. There is no time limit on the things that I want to achieve. My life gets better daily. Each day I become older and wiser. I have a roof over my head, foo

34 Things I Would Tell My Younger Self

There are many times in life when I just took the time to relax and reflect. Don’t you just wish that you can go back and advise your younger self of all life’s lessons? There are so many things I’ve learned about life and how things work.  Back then I thought I had it all figured out. Everything seemed so easy and played out. If I only knew!!! In life, you always take in consideration of where you come from to try to determine where you’re going. One thing is a fact. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of my experiences thus far.  The school of life has allowed me to learn from every twist and turn. I fully know and love myself . And through all of my ups and downs, I know what I want out of life.  So what would I tell my younger self?  1- You’re worth it. Always know your self worth and value. 2- Always, always, always stand up for yourself and the people you love. 3- Always surround yourself with the people you love. The individuals that push you to excel and want nothing but

July 2021 Favorite Things

Let's talk about my July favorites. I can't believe we are three weeks into July! Like June, this month is flying by. Before you know it, Christmas will be here. I have so many new favorites this month. Below you will find my July favorite things.   First up, My glass   Irish Coffee Mugs. I found these cuties in my local Marshalls. Believe it or not, they were purchased from the clearance aisle. They came in a set of four on sale for like 5 bucks. What a steal right?!! They were just too cute to leave behind. They are good for hosting friends and enjoying your morning brew. I love seeing the layers of my beverages while drinking from them. The Irish mugs are great for coffee, tea, hot cider, and also hot chocolate. When I host my next brunch, I'm defiantly using these to make an impression. A hot toddie and spiced wine will be pretty as well.   Wide Tufted Velvet Swivel Chair in Heather Grey   This is my favorite purchase of the month.  I've been wanting to find a chair
